How it Works

	Roof framing plan Locate the roof framing plan or whatever plan you will be using to determine the roofing materials.
Select the appropriate Rafter Ruler Common & Jack rafters (black) or Hip & Valley rafters (red).
	Common Ruler Lay the black "Rafter Ruler" along the rafter line with the "O" reference line at the ridge. Follow the appropriate roof pitch scale line and read the slope length at the eave.
Hip Rule Lay the red "Rafter Ruler along the hip or valley line with the "O" reference line at the peak. Be sure to align the appropriate roof pitch scale line at the hip or valley. Follow the appropriate roof pitch scale line and read the hip or valley length at the eave.
